Tangled Roots Brewing Company is releasing a Vienna Lager for the winter season. The beer will be tapped on Thursday, Jan. 5 in the Lone Buffalo, 808 La Salle Street, and the Tangled Roots Tap Room, 814 La Salle Street.
The beer will be $5 for a 16-ounce glass. It will be available to go in 32-ounce crowlers for $8 or 64-ounce growler fills for $14.
This Vienna Lager, named after the German city where the style was first brewed, is a crisp clean lager with a light toasted malt aroma and flavor. The light copper colored beer has a dry finish with a gentle hint of sweetness.
A large batch of the beer was brewed in Tangled Roots’ copper kettles with German hops and Vienna, Munich and Pilsner malts to properly represent this classic Bavarian beer style.
A special food pairing will be available for the beer in the Tangled Roots Tap Room. Samples of the food pairing will be available to the first 20 guests starting at 6 p.m.
